Specializing in Sight Casting for Redfish and Trout with Fly Rod and Spinning Gear!!!
A Fishing Experience in the Flats of the Lower Laguna Madre!!!

Boat and Gear

My current boat and motor is a sleek New Water Boat Works Curlew with a 90 Yamaha 2 cycle engine.

Gear

My reel and rod sponsor is Okuma and D.A.M. products. I use 7 or 7 ½ ft spinning rods with a variety of spinning reels (V-system 30; Inspira 30; and Epixor 30)

Fly rods: Generally my clients bring their own fly rods. A 7 or 8 weight rod is recommended to battle the hard fighting redfish. If you need for me to provide a fly rod, just let me know. I use Okuma fly rods as well.

Lures and baits: Flies, plastic lures, and a variety of top water baits will be used 99.9% of the time. Redfish, trout, and flounder will hit these baits, even through the sluggish winter months. When does the .01 % come in? Kids, of course! To insure kids have a good time, live shrimp, pinfish, or finger mullet could be used to catch a variety of fish.
